A person was shot in the parking lot on September 30, 2012 at 4:38 PM. It happened outside the Shell Gas Station on 3601 Martin Luther King Drive. According to the Atlanta Police Department, two male suspects were shooting at each other in the parking lot when a victim was caught between the crossfire and shot once in the arm. The two suspects fled from the scene on foot toward Fairburn Road. Police checked an abandoned pickup truck next to a gas pump with the doors open and the keys in the ignition. They concluded that it was stolen from Cobb County in a carjacking the previous night. Two males in the area of 195 Fairburn Road were detained and transported to the Criminal Investigation Department as possible suspects. Stay with WUNS Noral News as the investigation continues.

On Saturday, September 29, 2012 shortly after 7:15 PM, a fight broke out between two groups in the parking lot of the Atlanta Civic Center where the BET Hip Hop Awards was being taped. According to Officer Kim Jones, Atlanta Police Officers on scene responded to break up the fight and used pepper spray in the process. The individuals involved fled from the scene. There were no arrests or reports of serious injuries. Officer Jones says that reports of shots being fired appear to be false. BET Hip Hop Awards 2012 is hosted by Mike Epps and will air October 9.

 
In the early morning hours of September 16, 2012, an unknown male forced entry into an elderly women's home and assaulted her. According to the Marietta Police Department, the unknown male verbally threatened to physically hurt the elderly women if she didn't cooperate with him. The elderly women was taken to a nearby hospital and was eventually released with non-life threatening injuries. An unknown amount of cash and jewlrey was also stolen during the home invasion. The Marietta Police Department Dectectives Division is still investigating and is asking anyone with information to call 770-794-5380.

Traffic backed up for miles after major accident blocks 6 lanes.
On September 9, 2012 at around 9:39 AM, Cherokee Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to an armed robbery at the Marathon Station located on Bells Ferry Road at Victoria Road in Woodstock. The description of the suspect and his vehicle matched the information related to an armed robbery that happened earlier in Cobb County. At around 10:15 AM, Cherokee 911 advised that 2 Woodstock Police Officers were behind the suspect traveling South on I-575 entering Cobb County. The officers attempted a traffic stop on the suspect, though the suspect refused to stop and fled onto I-575 Southbound. Officers chased the suspect onto I-75 Southbound where Cobb County Police Officials performed a PIT maneuver. They were able to stop the suspect's vehicle near exit 263. The suspect pointed a firearm at the officers. Officers then shot and killed the suspect. The accident caused 6 lanes to be blocked Southbound I-75 South of North Marietta Parkway in Cobb County. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident.

Hall County Sheriff's and GBI Agents are requesting the public's assistance in the Hannah Truelove Murder Case. Investigators are looking for a late 1990's to early 2000's four door passenger Chevrolet or Dodge Product car. The driver's door may be white, though the overal car is light silver in color. The car has substantial front end damage. Investigators believe the car may have been in the area of Lake Lanier Club Apartments the evening of August 23, 2012. Occupants of the vehicle may have important information that will help the investigation. Ryan Kingston on surveillance camera in Target at 2201 Cobb Parkway
The Marietta Police Department has secured a warrant for a man after he was caught shoplifting. 29-year-old Ryan Kingston of Dacula, GA is known for shoplifing computer hard drives from 9 Metro Atlanta Target Stores and possibly other stores in the area. The most recent incident happened at Target on 2201 Cobb Parkway around 9 PM on September 4, 2012. Surveillance video shows Kingston and an unidentified white male entering the store together and walking to the electronics section. Kingston disabled the electronic security device attached to the packaging of the hard drive, then puts the item on the unidentified male. Kingston is being charged with theft by shoplifting. Police are searching for Kingston's accomplice and ask anyone with information to contact the Marietta Police Department Tip Line at 770-794-6990. 


 
After midnight on August 23, Atlanta Police responded to a call regarding a male lying in the road on the 4000 block of Danforth Road in Southwest Atlanta. When officials arrived, they determined the 21-year-old man identified as Jordan Ashley was shot and killed. Around the same time of the event, Fulton County Police responded to a Pedestrian Robbery that occured in the same area. Investigators believe the two men in the sketches are responsible for the two incidents and are asking anyone with information to contact the following:

On Labor Day, Hosea Feed The Hungry and Homeless partnered with several sponsors to host their 2nd annual "Labor of Love" event held at the Aaron's Amphitheater at Lakewood. "Labor of Love is designed to assist with job readiness skills for thousands", says Afemo Omilami who is the Chief Operating Officer for Hosea Feed The Hungry. "What we have found is in this competitive job market many lack the soft skills needed to get and maintain a job and Labor of Love will most certainly give people a step in the right direction". North Metro Center of the Georgia Department of Labor offered resume writing and interviewing tips. Convey of Hope, a faith based non-profit organization, provided families with at least 1,500 bags of grocercies. Of course, Hosea Feed The Hungry offered their service of providing nutritious foods. The Georgia Department of Labor says Georgia's Unemployment rate is 9% which is more than the national average of 8.2%.
